The last Dive

Cody Sheehy ©

Over 40 years ago, Terry Kennedy formed an extraordinary friendship. At that time, the waters around the uninhabited volcanic island of San Benedicto were a sailing paradise for him and his friends. Located around 600 kilometers off the Pacific coast of Mexico, the island was a place where Terry could indulge his desire for freedom. This desire had landed him in trouble several times in the U.S., but there he could escape all conventions. However, that all changed when he encountered Willy, a giant manta ray with a wingspan of over six meters, while diving. This encounter changed his life. Over the next two decades, an extraordinary friendship developed between Terry and Willy, transforming the former outlaw into a dedicated animal and environmental activist. Now in his eighties, Terry embarks on one last journey to San Benedicto in The Last Dive. He hopes to see Willy again—the animal that showed him what really matters in life.
